TrueLean 2.0 — redesigned, with a lean ceiling you can hear
TrueLean 2.0 is out, and it's the biggest release since the app launched. The lean-angle math underneath hasn't changed — it's still gyro attitude fused with cornering physics, still running entirely on your phone. Nearly everything around it has.
Redesigned, top to bottom
Every screen has been rebuilt. The cluster reads better at a glance in a tank-bag mount, the ride history is easier to move through, and the details of a ride are laid out so the number you want is where you'd expect it. The app you knew is still in there — it just stopped making you hunt.
A map on every ride
Route maps used to be something you went looking for. Now every ride has one, painted by lean angle — straights cool, the good bits hot — with your deepest lean of the day marked. Open any ride and the shape of it is the first thing you see.
A lean ceiling you can hear
This is the feature riders asked for most. Set a lean ceiling and TrueLean tells you, out loud, as you approach it — audio cues through your helmet instead of a number you'd have to look down to read.
The point is not to chase the ceiling. It's to know, without taking your eyes off the road, that you're using more of your tire than you meant to on a cold morning or an unfamiliar road.
A profile for your bike
TrueLean now has somewhere to put the bike itself. Set up a profile once and its details and settings stay put instead of being something you re-enter.
To be clear about what this isn't, yet: it's one profile, for one bike. If you have a garage, they still share it.
One optional setting, off by default
2.0 also adds Help Improve TrueLean (Settings → Data & Privacy), the only setting that can send us anything. Leave it off — it ships off — and nothing is created, stored, or sent.
Turn it on and it shares counts and wide brackets, never values: how often a screen or export was used, not where you rode or how far you leaned. You can read every record before and after it's sent, switch it off at any time, or delete everything it has ever sent. The detail is in the privacy policy, updated for 2.0.
The reminder that doesn't change
TrueLean is a recreational tool for reviewing your rides — not a safety device, and its readings are estimates. A lean ceiling cue is a review aid, not a limit that will save you. Mount your phone securely, set up before you move, and never interact with the app while riding. Ride within your limits, and save record-chasing for a closed course.
Shiny side up.
