TrueLean Safety, Disclaimer & Assumption of Risk
Last updated: June 18, 2026
Please read this before you ride. TrueLean is a recreational tool for measuring and reviewing your rides. It is not a safety device, not protective equipment, and not a precision instrument. Operating a motorcycle is inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. By downloading, installing, or using TrueLean you acknowledge and accept the risks described below.
Motorcycling is dangerous — you are responsible
Riding a motorcycle exposes you to risks including loss of control, collision, serious injury, and death. You alone are responsible for operating your motorcycle safely, for wearing appropriate protective gear, and for the consequences of how you ride. TrueLean does nothing to reduce these risks.
TrueLean is not a safety device
TrueLean does not improve your motorcycle's handling, braking, traction, stability, or visibility, and it does not make any maneuver safe. It does not detect crashes, call for help, or contact emergency services. Never rely on TrueLean to decide whether a turn, speed, or maneuver is safe. Your own judgment, training, and the real conditions of the road are what keep you safe.
Readings are estimates, not measurements
Lean angle, speed, g-force, distance, route, and lap/timer values are estimates computed from consumer smartphone sensors and GPS. They can be inaccurate, delayed, drift, or be flatly wrong — due to mount flex, vibration, calibration error, GPS error, signal loss, temperature, device limitations, or software bugs. Do not use TrueLean's readings to judge your real-world limits or the limits of your motorcycle, tires, or the road.
Never interact with your phone while riding
Mount your device securely and complete all setup before you start moving. Looking at, tapping, or adjusting your phone while riding is distracted operation of a vehicle — it is dangerous and may be illegal where you ride. TrueLean is designed for reviewing your rides afterward, not for staring at while moving.
Ride within the law and your ability
Always obey speed limits, traffic laws, and posted signs, and ride within your own skill level and the conditions of the road. Never use TrueLean to chase a maximum lean angle, top speed, 0–60 time, or any "record" on public roads or in traffic. Competition, performance testing, and pushing limits belong only on a closed course or track, under proper supervision — and even there you ride entirely at your own risk.
Mount your device securely
Use a rigid, properly installed mount rated for your motorcycle. A phone that detaches at speed is a hazard to you and others. Zaden Connell is not responsible for damage to or loss of your device, mount, or motorcycle.
Not for emergencies
TrueLean is not an emergency, crash-detection, or roadside-assistance service. It will not call 911 or notify anyone if you crash. Always carry an independent means of calling for help.
Assumption of risk and release
You voluntarily assume all risks associated with motorcycling and with your use of TrueLean. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and agree not to sue Zaden Connell and Zaden Connell's affiliates for any claim, injury, death, property damage, citation, or loss arising out of or related to your use of TrueLean or your operation of a motorcycle. This section works together with the Limitation of Liability and Indemnification sections of the Terms of Use.
